I believe that the best way to build systems is to let them show you what they want to be. A bunch of little things, that mostly don't suck, all doing their best. And what emerges can be wonderful, if you let it.
The best teachers I find are often the best story tellers. I am neither but I hope that through the stories we tell here, some of what I've learned about how to grow platforms can help someone else on the same path.
